On April 12, 1980, Terry Fox began the Marathon of Hope, an ambitious endeavor to run across Canada in order to raise funds for cancer research. Diagnosed with a rare form of cancer at a young age, Terry overcame numerous obstacles and ultimately became an inspiration to people throughout the world. The Terry Fox Story provides students with a detailed look at the life of a person who learned that cancer couldn't stop him from doing what he loved. The book can also be used to teach students how to make inferences and draw conclusions as well as identify and use antonyms. The book and lesson are also available for levels Q and T.
